ALLIES IN ACTION

Allies in Action is a volunteer program for English speakers who wish to be involved in the nationwide movement for immigration reform.

Our vision is to develop educated and enthusiastic allies who can support our immigrant membership by raising their own voices in support of our campaigns, programs, events and strategies.

Our mission is to build alliances between English speakers and our Spanish speaking members through the work of RAP. We want to support the immigrant membership and provide fulfilling opportunities for the volunteers.

VOLUNTEER ALLY ACTIVITIES:

FUNDRAISING : house parties, grant writing, event planning, finding new funding opportunities/donors, coordinating silent auctions

NETWORKING within the non-immigrant community, speaking opportunities

MEMBER SUPPORT: participating in issue organizing campaigns, setting up for events, manning tables, etc. (Some Spanish proficiency may be necessary here)

EDUCATION: Teaching ESL, tutoring ESL and Civics, conversation circles, citizenship drive, create a Spanish/English reference library

VOLUNTEER SUPPORT: Interview potential volunteers, ally phone calls, planning continuing education classes

ADMINISTRATIVE: Database entry, filing, office maintenance

ADDITIONAL:
