To serve our communities, RAP offers:
Know Your Rights Workshops - RAP leaders facilitate these interactive workshops to inform community members of their basic constitutional and labor rights, and how they can protect those rights in encounters with the police and/or immigration. For more information or to request a Know Your Rights Workshop please call 303-893-3500 #105.
Organizing and Campaigns - RAP believes that organizing is a powerful tool to build power, unite communities, develop lasting leaders, and make positive change for the good of all. RAP offers community members a safe space to discuss the injustices they encounter in their daily lives and take action through strategic campaigns designed to remedy these injustices and promote dignity and human rights for all members of our community. If you're interested in attending a RAP meeting or event please call 303-893-3500 #105.
Civic Engagement- RAP believes that civic engagement is critical to creating positive change in our community. Thus RAP holds issue forums to educate community members around issues of importance to them. Past forums have dealt with issues such as comprehensive immigration reform and current legislative initiatives.
RAP believes that all members of our communities play a part in the political process, regardless of their documentation status, and is currently working to develop programming to harness the potential of immigrants to influence voters. RAP members also regularly meet with their political representatives.
RAP also participates in the Ya Es Hora coalition assisting legal permanent residents in the process of applying for citizenship. To learn more about RAP's civic education program and how you can get involved please call: 303-893-3500 #103.
Allies in Action: This program allows Non-Spanish speaking members of the community to have the opportunity to learn more about the immigrant community through targeted training and work on RAP campaigns. They work on projects ranging from developing a speaker's bureau to fundraising to meeting with their political representatives.
